Lexington police investigated a break-in along a Lexington street for the second straight night.
Police say people living in a home along Tennessee Avenue told them they heard a knock at the door in the early hours of Friday morning. The group outside claimed they were DEA agents. The residents refused to open the door, so the masked people broke in. But once inside, the intruders didn't do anything and eventually left.
Late Wednesday night, officers responded to a neighboring home after a report of shots fired. Officers found there were no shots fired, but say a neighbor broke in. A man living there got into a scuffle with the burglar, trying to defend his family. The house broken into Friday was the same address as the one listed for the alleged burglar Wednesday night.
The burglar was treated at the scene for injuries to his arm and wrist, and charged with burglary.
