The Kentucky Transportation Department has some suggestions for motorists trying to get around during the NCAA tournament in downtown Lexington Thursday and Friday.
Work on Newtown Pike and Versailles Road restricted those routes to single lanes recently, but officials say they anticipates a two-lane traffic flow on both routes before the first tip-off Thursday afternoon.
The Transportation Cabinet suggests the following routes for fans making their way to the NCAA tourney games.
·Traffic from the north, east and west via Interstate 75 and Interstate 64 should use exit 113, Broadway to Rupp Arena.
·Traffic from the south via I-75 should use exit 104, Richmond Road.
Tournament goers are also advised to allow extra time due to Rupp Arena's location in downtown Lexington.
