Police in Laurel County have arrested a suspect in a violent home invasion robbery early Friday morning in which they say a female resident of the home was sexually assaulted.

The incident happened at about 2:15 a.m. at a home on Waterworks Road. Police say Tyler Gross, 22, of London forcibly entered the residence through a window, sexually assaulted the woman living in the home and stole several items.

Gross was arrested later Friday and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree burglary and first-degree unlawful imprisonment. Gross was also charged on a bench warrant for a probation violation.
