Police in Madison County have arrested a suspect in a check cashing store robbery from earlier this week and say he is a suspect in two similar robberies.
Douglas Lynch, 33, of Richmond was arrested in connection with the robbery of the PayDay USA on Big Hill Avenue that occurred on Wednesday. Police then charged him for two other robberies of cash advance stores.
During the course of the follow-up investigation, police say several items of evidence connected to the robbery, including the firearm, were recovered on Fike Road in the Waco area.
The investigation also linked Lynch to two prior robberies and an attempted robbery. Police say that on December 23, Lynch entered the Advance America Cash Advance on the Eastern Bypass to commit a robbery but was not able to carry out the crime. Later on the same date, police say Lynch robbed the Cash Express on E. Main Street at gunpoint and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Lynch is also charged with robbing the Advance America Cash Advance store at gunpoint in January 2009.
Lynch is charged with three counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree attempted robbery. He is being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
