Police in Marion County have arrested two men for a home invasion robbery early Tuesday morning in which the men posed as police officers.
The incident happened at about 5 a.m. at a home on Holy Cross Road in Lorreto. Police say a woman in the home answered a knock at the door, and say a man dressed in camouflage with a hat that said "detective" asked for assistance before he and another man forced their way into the home. The woman said both men were wearing masks.
Police say the suspects, now identified as Steven K. Bartley, 21, and Lawrence W. Inman, 31, both of Shepherdsville, were inside the home for about 45 minutes and hit the woman a with a gun several times. The suspects also broke the neck of a kitten that was inside the home.
Police say the suspects stole numerous items, including credit cards and several electronic items.
Bartley and Inman were arrested at about 2 a.m. Wednesday at a home in Shepherdsville. They are being held in the Marion County Detention Center on first-degree robbery charges.
