Fire investigators were called out to a Lexington business after three vehicles went up in flames early Thursday morning.

All on the same day that the owner of that business has a date in court.

Firefighters responded to a call at Winchester's Towing on Big Run Road, and found a tow truck next to the building and two pickup trucks about 30 meters away burning. Crews put out the fires before flames spread to the building or any other vehicles.

"It's definitely a suspicious fire, that's why fire investigation is involved. They'll be working with Lexington PD to determine their next course of action, but it's definitely a suspicious fire," Lexington Fire Department Captain Harold Oney said.

Mike Winchester owns the business. He was found guilty on charges of filing false tax returns back in April. In a jail interview with an LEX 18 reporter last year, Winchester called the charges against him unfair.

Investigators have not said if they think the fire has any connection with Thursday's scheduled court appearance.
