Firefighters worked a pair of suspicious fires in Georgetown overnight.

The first fire was spotted smoldering inside a plastic garbage can at the Arby's restaurant along Paris Pike, just off I-75, around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. The fire burned a hole through the side of the trash can before firefighters put it out.

About 45 minutes later, a passerby spotted a flaming dumpster behind the Big Lots just up the road, about a 10th of a mile away.

Officials say they think both fires were intentionally set, but they don't know if the two are connected.
