(AP) - A Louisville police spokesman says a SWAT team has been called to an apartment in the eastern part of the city after officers tracked down a suspect in a robbery-shooting.

Spokesman Dwight Mitchell says the SWAT team was called to the apartment Monday morning after detectives reported hearing a single gunshot from inside.

Detectives had gone to the apartment to question a suspect in an early morning robbery in which a clerk at a convenient store had been shot and wounded.

Mitchell says the store clerk remained at University of Louisville hospital in "very critical condition."
