Teen Flown To UK Hospital After Wayne County Crash

One person was flown to UK Hospital Thursday morning following a crash in Wayne County.

The incident happened at about 7 a.m. on KY 90. Upon arrival, police determined that a gold 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass passenger car operated by Justin Lee Carrender, 18, of Monticello, was traveling eastbound on KY 90 when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the centerline and struck a red, 1999, Peterbilt, tractor / trailer, operated by Gary E. Wellman, 52, of McKee, on the north shoulder of the roadway.

Carrender was transported to the Wayne County Hospital and then flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment.

Wellman was not injured in the crash.

No drug or alcohol usage was suspected.
