A Georgetown teen helped a friend's family escape a burning home overnight.
Justin Bailey says he was walking his dog around the block along Hemingway Place just before midnight Thursday when he saw his friend's father come out the door and yell for help. The teen rushed to help get the family of six and their dogs out of the burning house.
"He's like, 'My house is on fire!" So, I ran over here and we ran into the house, and went out in the garage to try and put it out. But we couldn't see anything, it was all smoke," Bailey said.
An ambulance crew came to check everybody out, but nobody suffered any injuries.
Firefighters quickly put out the blaze, pretty much limiting damage to the garage area.
Firefighters say the fire might have started near a refrigerator in the garage. A fire investigator was called out to check out the scene, but has not determined a cause.
