Teen Indicted In Stabbing Incident At Madison Central High School

A Madison Central High School student who allegedly stabbed another student during a fight at at the school in October has been indicted in the case.

Police say Jacob Hamblin, 17, stabbed 17-year-old Stevie Christopher Caldwell in the chest and side with a kitchen knife during an argument October 7 inside the Home Economics classroom.

Caldwell spent more than a week recovering at UK Hospital before talking about the incident with LEX 18. Caldwell said, "We were making a cheese ball and he told me to give him the knife I was using. I told him no and we started fighting. The next thing I knew he had stabbed me in the chest and I pulled the knife out."

Police say Hamblin is charged with second-degree assault. He will be arraigned on March 11.
