A Lexington teen died at UK Hospital after he was hit by a car Sunday night.

Police say Jai-Wei Weng, 19, was trying to cross Richmond Road around 7:30 p.m. when a white Toyota Corolla struck him. Police say witnesses told them that the car had a green light.

EMS transported Weng to UK Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say a 17-year-old from Lexington was driving the Toyota. Police have not released his name.

Officers say they do not believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
