Police say a teen suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during an apparent drug deal in south Lexington Wednesday night.

Investigators say the victim and his friends where in a car along Thames Drive, off River Park Drive, around 7:30 p.m. when the shooter got in to get out of the rain. The group got into a fight that spilled out into the street. During the altercation, a 16-year-old was shot in the leg.

The victim's friends took him to UK Hospital for treatment.

Police say they have not made any arrests.
