Officials say a Lincoln County teen allegedly shot by her grandfather in a domestic dispute early Thursday morning has been released from the hospital.
Deputies say the incident started as a domestic dispute at a home on Simpson Road in Crab Orchard. Police say the initial investigation revealed Monique Brummett, 18, had an apparent gunshot wound to the upper leg. Her grandfather, Danny Brummett, 66, was found near the home and had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Police say Monique Brummett and her grandmother lived in home on Simpson Road, and a previous domestic issue led to Danny Brummett to not being allowed to stay in the home.
Danny Brummett is still being treated at UK Hospital. His condition is unknown.
