Terrence Jones is going home. Kentucky plays Portland Friday night and Terrence can't wait.
Many people believed he would always be playing close to home at Washington, but you know how that saga unfolded.
"The trip will mean a lot. It's always good to have the chance to play in front of my mom and grandma and show them how much I've improved since high school, and as a college player," said the UK freshman.
Terrence believes that in even the short time he's been away, his family will notice a marked difference in his game.
"I've improved a lot on my shot, and playing harder."
John Calipari says he's never had a player go home and play well. Jones, of course, is trying to change that. If the last two games he's played are any indication, he should be just fine.
"Mainly just to stay focused on the game, and not worry about who is in the crowd. He's just told me to go out there and play basketball," said Jones of Calipari's advice.
"Coach has explained how good they are in practice, and to not take it lightly. I haven't seen them this year, but they're pretty good."
