Cal like many coaches likes to say he has a 24 hour rule.
After you get beat by Indiana, you have to quickly move on and get over it. Sounds nice, but in reality, it's not how it works. You don't feel the same way all week after a game like that.
Cal says it's his fault. You like it when someone who makes millions takes responsibility. He's been too easy on his Cats. So, practice is different.
"We need to have a little more rough house practices, a little tougher, and we need more conditioning," says Cal.
"He said it was his fault so we've been going after it more," says Anthony Davis.
To the big hangover! Not listening to Cal in the huddle with 5 seconds to go against Indiana. So, Cal is doing his best to remind his team when they don't listen to their leader.
"Every time they don't listen in a drill or what I am saying, I stop practice," says Cal.
"I say, 5.6 seconds left and there is a timeout. We are going to pick up three quarter court and when they get near half court we are going to foul. Do you hear me?"
Terrence Jones is coming off a nightmare of a game. One rebound, six turnovers and four points.
Terrence wasn't ducking the media. He was late for practice because he was coming from a class. So, there wasn't time to talk.
Cal isn't worried about Terrence's bad game. Terrence knows what happened last Saturday can't continue if he wants to reach his personal and team goals. Plus, he has been ripped by many for his play against Indiana.
"It just made him even madder," says Anthony Davis. "He came in the gym a lot. Worked out and everything. He just wants to prove people wrong."
Which is exactly what any True Blue Fan wants to hear.
