The Boyle County Fiscal Court tackled the controversial issue of prayer on Tuesday.
The Court decided they would allow prayer to God during its meetings, but not to Jesus Christ. Prior to the decision, prayer was not even allowed on the agenda, but there was a moment of silence.
The compromise left some people on both sides of the issue unsatisfied.
"It's personal to me because I pray to Jesus Christ. The bible tells me the only way to get to God is through Jesus," Polly Evans said.
But Jane Brantley said she doesn't think prayer should be part of the agenda at all.
"In a government body - that is not the place to establish one's religion," she said.
The ruling was unanimous and took effect Tuesday.
