Kentucky State Police said Tuesday that a third person has been arrested in connection to a Casey County murder in September.
Anthony L. Byrd, 53, of Dunnville was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with facilitation to commit Murder and hindering prosecution as a result of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Wendall "Gleason" Pyles. Pyles, 50, was murdered at the Tarter Gate Company in Dunnville on September 26.
Police have charged William R. Rigdon, 27, with murdering Pyles, and have also charged David Salyers, 59, with complicity to commit murder. According to the Danville Advocate Messenger, Salyers admitted driving the man who shot Pyles in his truck and later burning it. Detectives say Salyers told them he and Pyles were in an ongoing argument over money that Pyles owed him.
Rigdon has an extensive criminal record. He was jailed over the summer on charges including terroristic threatening and wanton endangerment, along with drug offenses. Police also arrested him in 2010 for possession of a forged instrument and being a persistent felony offender.
Police say they anticipate more arrests in the case.
