Thoroughbred Times Shuts Down, 27 Lose Jobs

Editor of The Thoroughbred Times, the Lexington based biweekly magazine reporting on horse racing and breeding, confirms to LEX 18, the company filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Friday.

Simon says the company has 27 full-time employees who were notified by FedEx Saturday morning, they would be without jobs.

Simon says the company was no longer making enough money to continue publishing. He tells LEX 18 he's "extremely disappointed" with the outcome.

Simon started the publication in 1985.

The company is located on Mercer Road in Lexington.

Thoroughbred Times Company published a number of titles, annuals, and books for professionals and enthusiasts in racing.
