About 2,300 Bluegrass Energy customers remain in the dark Monday morning.

The majority of the outages cover areas in Harrison County. Heavy snow and ice took down power lines across the area over the weekend. Officials say melting ice caused more outages on Sunday and slowed crews as they worked to restore power.

As many as 7,000 people were without electricity at the height of the outages.
