Thousands Pay Respects To Fleming County Teen Who Died While Hunting

Thousands turned out Sunday to say goodbye to Ricky Hamilton, the Fleming County teen who died while hunting last weekend.

Hamilton went missing last Saturday and his body was found at the bottom of a rock quarry Tuesday. His funeral was held Sunday at Fleming County High School.

Family, friends, classmates and hundreds who helped in the search came to grieve and show support for the Hamilton family. "We just love them so much and we're grieving with them," said family friend Patty Flora. "We've all...you know every night you lay awake, wake up and know you're not the only one laying awake."

There's talk among Hamilton's football teammates of having Ricky's number 36 jersey retired.

The family is still accepting donations to help pay for funeral costs. A fund is set up at People's Bank in Flemingsburg.
