Three people were arrested Friday after police say they discovered a meth operation and an apparent explosive device in a Whitley County home.
The incident happened at about 1 p.m. at a home on Nanny Hubbard Road in the Canadatown community of Whitley County. During the course of their duties, a probation and parole officer found what appeared to be a one-step methamphetamine operation in the residence and had three subjects detained. When a Williamsburg police officer arrived, he confirmed what appeared to be a meth operation and also an apparent explosive device.
WPD, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky and Whitley County Emergency Management, the Goldbug and Woodbine volunteer fire departments and Whitley County EMS were then called to the scene. Several nearby residences were evacuated and nearby roads were closed. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was also on scene and KSP's Hazardous Device Unit was called.
Two males and one female have been arrested. Police say their identities and other information will be released later.
