Police say they have charged three people in connection with a violent Wednesday morning home invasion in Lexington.
The incident happened at the Merrill Place apartment complex on Cambridge Drive. Police say Joekeyta Jordan, 21, knew who was at the door when she answered a knock around midnight. When Jordan opened the door, two armed men burst inside and assaulted two victims who were in the apartment with her. One of the victims went to UK Hospital, suffering from a wound to the head after one of the assailants hit him with the butt of a rifle.
The two suspects fled on foot.
Officers say they found Jordan sitting in an SUV nearby a short time later and took her into custody for questioning. Police have now charged her with first degree robbery.
Police in Woodford County arrested Matthew C. Neace, 24 and Avery R. Neace, 25, on warrants out of Fayette County. Police confirm they were the two people who fled. Matthew Neace faces a robbery charge, and Avery Neace was charged with complicity to robbery.
