Three people were hospitalized, at least one with critical injures, following a collision on a Lexington road Monday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 2 p.m. on Winchester Road between Royster Road and North Cleveland Road. Two people who were in a white BME company truck were hurt but appeared stable. The truck collided with a green Dodge Stratus, whose driver had to be cut out of the car using the Jaws of Life. He was unconscious and appeared to suffer critical injuries.
Police believe the driver of the Dodge Stratus crossed the center line of the road. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the collision.
An accident reconstruction unit was called to the scene. The road reopened at about 5:15 p.m.
