Three Pedestrians Hit In Two Separate Collisions In Danville

Two children and a man were injured Tuesday in two separate collisions in Danville.

Danville Police say the first happened about 3:30 on South Alta Avenue between East Main Street and East Walnut. Witnesses say an SUV began to lose traction and fishtail as it went through the intersection. The driver, Blake Napier, wasn't able to regain control. He ran over the curb and into a yard striking two Bate Middle School students who were walking through the yard. The SUV also hit the house at 436 East main Street.

The driver was not hurt. The students were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not known.

The second collision happened around 7:30 at the intersection of McMillan and West Lexington Avenue. Officers found 77 year old John T. Davis lying on the grass. He said he was standing at the edge of the road when he was struck by a vehicle which did not stop. Davis was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with an injury to his wrist
