A lawyer for three UK football players charged with marijuana possession pleaded not guilty in the case Tuesday on their behalf.
Junior running back Raymond Sanders, freshman cornerback Marcus Caffey and freshman wide receiver Bookie Cobbins were all charged with possession of marijuana on September 13, according UK Police chief Joe Monroe.
Monroe says police were responded after a complaint about a marijuana smell coming from Cooperstown Apartments. The three players were cited and ordered to appear in court.
Possession of marijuana is a misdemeanor.
