A toddler was killed in a lawn mower accident in south Lexington Wednesday evening.

The accident happened along Hillgate Lane, off Evans Mill Road, near the intersection of Old Richmond Road and Jacks Creek Pike. The Fayette County coroner says Adelaide McReynolds, 2, was riding on a zero-turn lawn mower with her father and her 7-year-old brother when she fell off.

Neighbors expressed shock at the little girl's death.

"Today I was in the library, in the Northside Library on Russell Cave. I was recording something in their recording studio and Teresa came with the children, so I held Addy in my arms today. And she just melted into me. She had this wonderful, wonderful ability to just melt into you. She was the spark of our lives," Kasia Peter said.
