A toddler is in the hospital after he was accidentally shot in the arm by his four-year-old cousin.
It happened just before 8:00 Saturday evening at an apartment on Devonport Drive off of Versailles Road.
Police say the four-year-old somehow got the gun and pulled the trigger inside the apartment.
The child was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It took police an hour to locate the gun, finding it with one person who ended up being taken into custody. Neighbors say the toddler looked scared going on the ambulance but he didn't cry.
We spoke with one man who says he heard the gun shots. "People were screaming and hollering and a woman was screaming her head off," remembers James Clax. Clax says he saw a woman holding the two-year-old boy dressed in blue jeans and a long-sleeve shirt, blood dripping off his arm. He says he remembers hearing the boy ask, "Where am I going?"
Police say charges could be pending including wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
