According to the Detroit News, guard James Young, ranked No. 5 in ESPN's top 100, will commit to UK Thursday.

Young is expected to make an official announcement at 5 p.m. He's narrowed his choices to Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State and Syracuse.

The 6-foot-6 senior is considered the leading candidate for the 2013 Michigan Mr. Basketball award. As a junior, the lefty averaged 25.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
