Arguably the top girls' basketball players in the state has burst back onto the scene in impressive fashion.
Owensboro Catholic senior Becca Greenwell missed her entire junior season after she tore her ACL playing for Team USA in the FIBA 3-on-3 Youth Championships in Italy in the fall of 2011. She got back on the hardwood over the summer, helping the USA Under-17 team to a gold medal.
Greenwell kicked off her senior campaign scoring 37 points in a 77-27 blowout of Apollo. She hit 72.2 percent from the field, including six-of-eight three pointers. Greenwell also yanked down eight rebounds.
Greenwell followed that up with a 29 point 10 rebound performance in a 63-36 victory over Daviess County on Dec. 3. She hit 10-of-15 from the field and drained three treys.
Greenwell averaged 32 points per game as a sophomore. The 6-1 guard ranks sixth in the nation on ESPN's 2013 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings and has already signed to play college ball at Duke.
