A trial date has been set for next April for a Lexington man accused of killing his mother.

Mark Cave, 28, is accused of dumping his mother's body in a trash can on Fortune Drive. The body of 54-year-old Sharon Cave Howard was found decomposed in February. Investigators say she may have died as early as June 2011.

Cave is charged with murder and tampering with evidence. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
