The trial of a man shot by police after he held them at bay for hours in a Lexington neighborhood got underway Monday.

Warren Rayburn has since recovered from those injuries. Police say in July 2008, Rayburn refused to put down an assault rifle at a home on Arbor Station Way after a domestic dispute turned into the standoff.

Shortly after the shooting, Rayburn's relatives claimed police used too much force.
