A semi went off the road and got stuck in soggy ground along I-75 in Fayette County early Monday morning, causing some minor traffic backups.
Police say the southbound driver swerved off the road to avoid an animal just past the Athens-Boonesboro exit. The truck, pulling a 50,000 pound load, sank in the rain-soaked grass. A wrecker had to come pull the tractor-trailer out.
I-75 is now clear in the area.
