An accident involving a tractor-trailer created quite the mess along Owens Road in London early Monday morning.
Police say the truck was off-route, traveling down the small city street around 3 a.m., when it hit power lines and a large tree. The impact split the trailer open, spilling 31,000 pounds of merchandise.
Police shut down Alf Lane and Owens Road for several hours as utility workers worked to restore power and crews cleaned up the mess.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
