Former UK and current Minnesota coach Tubby Smith is reacting to the shooting death of one of his former players, Desmond Allison.

Allison was shot and killed on Monday in Columbus, Ohio.

Smtih released this statement:

"I am deeply saddened by the news that Desmond Allison has passed away. He was a gifted athlete that was taken from us way to soon. He will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family."
