Madison County police say two people have been arrested after a traffic stop in which police say they found $13,000 in cash and almost $13,000 in Percocet pills both where located inside the vehicle.
Police say the arrests were made at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday after Madison County Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle on I-75 about five miles north of Richmond near the 95 mile marker. Deputies, along with the Central Kentucky Area Drug Task Force, obtained permission to search the vehicle. The search revealed $13,000 in cash and $12,870 worth of Percocet pills inside the vehicle. The drug arrest comes after information was received during an ongoing investigation.
Shannon R. Alexander, 24, of Detroit, Michigan was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and giving false information to police. Kenny D. Bledsoe, 38, of Richmond was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
Both are being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
