Two Cats Make Pre-Season Coaches All-SEC Team

UK has two players on the Pre-season Coaches All-SEC Team.

Guard Larry Warford, who is listed as 6-feet-3 inches and 343 pounds, makes the first team. Warford was also one of 71 players named to the Outland Trophy watch list which goes to the top interior lineman.

Wide out La'Rod King, who is 6-feet-4 inches and 222 pounds, makes the second team.

The top two teams from last season dominate the squads. Defending national champion Alabama and defending Southeastern Conference champion LSU each have 11 players.

LSU was tops with seven players on the first-team, three on the second-team and one on the third-team. Alabama has have four players on the first-team, four on the second-team, and three on the third-team.

Arkansas is third with 10 total players, four on the first-team and three on each of the second and third teams.

Every school has at least two players on one of the three units, and 12 of the 14 SEC teams have a player on the first team.

Nine of the first-team pre-season selections that were on last year's first-team coaches All-SEC post-season team. Those include: OL Barrett Jones (Alabama); OL Alex Hurst (LSU); QB Tyler Wilson (Arkansas); DL Sam Montgomery (LSU); DL Corey Lemonier (Auburn); LB Jarvis Jones (Georgia); DB Tyrann Mathieu (LSU); DB Bacarri Rambo (Georgia); and, PK Caleb Sturgis (Florida).
