A fire at a home in Morehead Friday night spread to several acres and sent two people to the hospital.
The fire broke out around 10:00 pm on Dry Creek Road just outside of Morehead.
Firefighters say one person inside the home was flown to UK for burns, the other taken to St. Claire Hospital in Morehead.
No other homes were in danger but the State Forestry Department and US Forest Service were on hand to contain the fire.
"It was a wood structure and it was very hot," says assistant fire chief John Northcutt with Morehead Fire Department. "This house is located very close to the wood line and it extended into the woods. There is a steep hill behind the structure and it progressed up the hillside."
Investigators say the fire appears to have been accidental. The home is a total loss.
