Two people suffered injuries in a head-on crash in Laurel County Tuesday morning.

Deputies say a car crossed the center line along US-25, near the intersection of Fariston Road, around 7 a.m. The car slammed into an oncoming pickup truck.

The driver of the car was airlifted to UK Hospital. Officials called that person's injuries serious. EMS took the pickup truck driver to St. Joseph's Hospital London for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Officials have not released the victims' names.

Deputies say the driver of the car possibly fell asleep at the wheel.
