An accident along I-64 in Woodford County injured two people and backed up traffic for miles Thursday night.
Police say an eastbound minivan apparently veered off the right side of the highway just past the Midway exit around 11 p.m. The driver overcorrected and hit a car. That vehicle rolled over onto its side, slid into the median and came to rest against the cable barrier. EMS took both drivers to UK Hospital. Officials did not release any information about the extent of their injuries.
Police shut down eastbound lanes for about 90 minutes as crews cleared the wreckage, creating a backup of several miles. Official reopened the road around 1:30 a.m. and traffic is now flowing normally.
