Lexington police continue to search for the people involved in a shootout early Friday morning.
Bullets struck two houses along Florence Avenue in the incident just after midnight. Police say at least one shooter targeted a house. A home across the street was also hit. Investigators found more than 30 shell casings from two different guns scattered in the street.
An elderly man living in one of the homes says a bullet came through the wall and missed his head by inches.
Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored Chevy Impala with a broken window leaving the scene after the gunfire.
Police brought in a K9 unit to search the area. The dog did track a scent for some distance. Police say that leads them to believe at least one person was on foot.
