Two men suspected in a Lexington home invasion robbery were arrested Friday, one of them after a standoff with police.

The standoff lasted for about two hours at an apartment on Fontaine Road. Police say Jeremy Hersey, 23, was arrested without incident after he left the apartment and surrendered.

Police say that around 4:30 a.m. two men kicked in the door of Thomas Henke's home on Pleasant Ridge Way in Lexington. Henke told police that he heard a noise at the back door, and when he went to check, Hersey and Christian Cox, 18, one armed with a gun, kicked in the door.

Police say nothing was taken, but Henke was hit in the head. He was taken to UK Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the the Henke knew both suspects before the incident and knew where they live, which led police to the apartment on Fontaine Road where the standoff occurred.

It is unclear if Cox was in the apartment with Hersey or if he was arrested in a different location.

Police originally thought that Hersey's brother, Justin was involved in the home invasion, but later identified Cox as the second suspect.

Hersey and Cox both face first-degree burglary charges. Police say two other people who were in the apartment during the standoff will also face charges for hindering apprehension. So far, their names have not been released.
