Lexington native and Olympic sprinter, Tyson Gay, is paying back a large amount to help rebuild his reputation.
Simon Hart of London's Telegraph, says that Gay will re-pay about 300 thousand pounds or $500,000 in American currency in prize money and appearance fees to former race organizers.
Gay was banned for a year for testing positive for a banned steroid. He admitted it was a cream that he used but he insisted that he wasn't aware that it had a banned steroid in it. The ban is over this June and Gay could run again, but the Lafayette graduate had previously said he wouldn't run this year.
