The National Championship game started slow with UK and UConn tied at 6 after the first media timeout (under 16 minute timeout).
That's when the Huskies made the game's first run -- an 11-2 spurt to give Connecticut a 17-8 lead forcing a Kentucky timeout with 13:08 left in the first half.
There was no immediate change in the game as the Huskies' lead grew to 15 points with approximately 7 minutes left in the half.
That's when the Cats answered with an 16-5 run.
UConn leads 35-31 at the half.
The Wildcats have trailed or been tied at the half in their previous four games.
Shabazz Napier leads all players with 15 points.
James Young leads the Cats with 10 points.
UK turned the ball over 7 times in the first half. They had 4 in the entire game versus Wisconsin.
