Camp Cal was supposed to change the team. You spend all that time during Camp Cal working on your game with extra practices, and the team comes out and plays like the tipoff is at 9pm.

The game started a little after 8pm.

Dominique Hawkins off the bench gets UK's first field goal. Mississippi State led 12-4.

With 11:58 to go in the first half, Mississippi State leads 18-8 at the second TV timeout. UK has hit 2 of 13 shots.

The wake up call begins. At the end of the shot clock, UK keeps calm and Willie Cauley-Stein with a strong dunk. 18-12 Mississippi State.

James Young, with his family at the game, crashes the boards and throws one down to tie the game at 20.

It got physical. Aaron Harrison with a flagrant foul on Roquez Johnson. Colin Borchert, who said some things to UK players because of it, made the two free throws for Johnson who left the game. 32-28 Mississippi State.

The refs were worried about the game getting out of hand. Willie Cauley-Stein with a block that not only turns into a foul but a double technical on Willie Cauley-Stein and Roquez Johnson.

Alex with a nice dunk just before the end of the half on a nice pass from Marquis Lee.

Mississippi State leads 40-37 at the half.

James Young had a great half with 15 points and 9 rebounds.

UK put on a dunking show in the second half.

Alex Poythress throws one down after a nice pass from James Young to make it 59-51.

Alex again with a jam. This time he goes flying to the bucket and throws it down with one hand. Andrew Harrison with the perfect pass. UK goes up 68-53 and Mississippi State looked like a tired team.

Alex throws another dunk down to make it 70-53.

James Young with a big jam to make it 76-54. Aaron Harrison again with the pass.

UK wins 85-63.

James Young with 26 points 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Willie Cauley-Stein had 12 points 4 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Julius Randle had 8 points and 14 rebounds.

Alex Poythress, the dunking machine had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks.
