The knockout punch came right after the opening tip.
Anthony Davis gets two dunks in less than two minutes.
Toss in a three by Kyle Wiltjer who came in when Terrence Jones hurt a finger on his left hand and had to leave. Cats jump out 16-2 over Chattanooga.
Lamb's outside shot makes it 24-9 with about 11 minutes to go in the half. At this point UK is hitting 58% of their shots. Chattanooga only 27%.
Terrence Jones comes back in it's obvious that his left hand which is taped is bothering him.
Chattanooga wakes up and goes on a 17-15 run to make it 33-19.
UK leads 39-23 at the half. For now, there is no joy at Rupp.
Terrence Jones coming off an awful game against Indiana needs to be given a pass with his bad hand. He has no points. Has missed all three shots. Has one foul, one rebound, one assist and two turnovers.
Anthony Davis is the star. He has 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Doron Lamb has played a decent half with 9 points.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has 8 points and 4 rebounds.
UK's shooting fell apart. After a fast start they are down to 45%. What is helping UK is Chattanooga is awful at 25%.
Marquis Teague is doing a better job with the ball. The freshman point guard has 5 assists with only one turnover.
As it usually does, talent takes over in the second half. UK was in total control for the second 20 minutes.
Doron Lamb was terrific leading everyone with 24 points on 10 of 17 from the field. That includes 4 of 9 from downtown.
Anthony Davis was big time. He dunked his way to 7 of 11 from the field for 14 points. He had 18 rebounds and blocked 5 shots.
Marquis Teague had 11 points, but what was much better was his assist to turnover ratio. 8 assists and only 1 turnover. That has to make Cal smile.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was a stat stuffer. 17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 turnovers.
Darius Miller chipped in with 12.
UK is now 10-1 beating Chattanooga 87-62.
