With Terrence Jones in street clothes 90 minutes before the tip, it was obvious UK's sophomore with the bad finger wasn't going to play against Samford.

UK comes flying out of the gate hitting 8 of their first 10 shots. Starting out, Samford had some trouble just getting into their offense without UK's defense causing some trouble. That led to some easy buckets for UK.

Anthony Davis with a block, he runs the court and gets it back from Kidd-Gilchrist to make it 4-0.

After yet another Samford turnover, Doron Lamb hit a three and the Cats jump out 11-0.

With the score 24-9 UK after Teague's second bucket in a row, the Cats are shooting a ridiculous 76%. UK hit 10 of their first 13 shots.

Samford can't guard UK. Cal's Cats are too athletic.

Samford hit only 4 of their first 12 shots.

Samford was playing hard and it finally started paying off. With 7:38 to go in the half, UK's lead is only 29-18. Samford is playing UK even since their 11-0 start.

After a time out, UK picked it up and leads 45-22 at the half.

Doron Lamb had a terrific half with 16 points.

Darius Miller who started for Terrence Jones has 12.

UK's hot shooting cooled off. They ended the half at 56%. UK has hit 18 of 32 shots.

Samford is hitting only 41%. That includes 9% from downtown with 1 for 11.

Second half was like a scrimmage.

Darius Miller who had 17, makes a great steal, pushes the ball and dishes to Kidd-Gilchrist who had 10, 57-27 UK.

Davis who had 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks with a dunk after getting the ball from Teague 61-30.

Miller and Lamb hit back to back three's to make it 73-43.

Lamb forces nothing and finishes with a game high 26. He hits 8 of 12 shots.

And quietly in limited playing time, Vargas looks good. 7 rebounds and it's amazing how much better he can move his feet on defense.

Cats win 82-50.
