A certificate belonging to a former UK basketball player was nearly thrown away before one person saved it.
The certificate was issued to John McIntosh in 1937 stating that he had earned a varsity letter in basketball.
The woman who found it gave it to Susan Griffith. Her goal is to return the certificate McIntosh's family as she believe that's where it belongs.
A Hazard native, McIntosh played at UK for three seasons from 1934-37 under head coach Adolph Rupp.
McIntosh died in 1984 at the age of 70 according to his obituary in the Lexington Herald-Leader.
