UK freshman linebacker Ridge Wilson was arrested Tuesday following an incident on UK's campus late Monday night in which he allegedly assaulted a woman.

The incident happened at the Complex Mall on UK's campus. According to police, Wilson got into an argument with the woman and allegedly punched her in the face. He then left the scene.

Police say Wilson was charged with fourth-degree assault in the case. He was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon and was released later after posting bail.

Wilson played as a true freshman in UK's opener against Miami of Ohio and made one tackle.

UK football coach Rich Brooks said Tuesday that Wilson, who attended Central High School in Louisville, will not play in Saturday's upcoming UL-Louisville game, and that his future on the team is undecided.

no one knows the situation that was occurring to make this happen. for all we know said girl was verbally attacking him, and being aggressive towards her, and he pushed her away.

either way for the first time since Brooks has been the coach, I can say i do not support him if he chose to suspend Wilson longer than a week. there's been much more serious things occur with no penalty to the player(s) involved, and i hope Rich is lenient on a young man who just made a bad judgment call in a bad situation.
