Statement from UK in response to The New York Times story involving Eric Bledsoe.

"Often high profile student-athletes are selected for an extensive prospective student-athlete (PSA) review. Eric Bledsoe participated in the normal academic review process and also an extensive PSA review by the NCAA Eligibility Center and was cleared academically."

According to the Times, the investigation centers around the time before Bledsoe got to UK while he was still playing in high school, specifically how he qualified academically for college and whether or not he and his family were receiving rent money from his high school coach.

The article cites anonymous sources who say Bledsoe's high school coach was helping pay the rent and was demanding money in return from colleges recruiting Bledsoe. The coach denies both claims.
